Scotscape win contract to supply up to 3,600 m² of Living Wall to Tehran, Iran

Scotscape Landscaping Ltd have been successful in securing the contract to supply up to 3,600m² of their patented Fytotextile ® Living Wall system to one of the largest shopping malls in the world that is currently under construction in Tehran, Iran.

In conjunction with Daniel Bell Landscape http://www.danielbell.se/ whose design input and knowledge of Living Walls was a major factor in securing the order, our sales team flew out to Tehran in October 2016 to make the presentations.

Local Landscape contractor SM Consortium http://www.sabzsazehco.com/ chose the Scotscape Living Wall system as it not only produced the best horticultural results in the challenging climate, it was lightweight, easy to install and could be made to any shape.

In April 2017 our top installation team flew out to Tehran with Daniel Bell to install the 70m² trial wall to an escalator drop in the middle of the construction site.

Despite the challenging conditions of the building site and with thanks to  SM Consortiums  maintenance team keeping the wall dust free and irrigated, the trial wall proved a great success and Scotscape are now looking forward to servicing the supply chain over the coming months.

For the interior walls within the shopping complex, Scotscape are using their standard modular Fytotextile® panels but have introduced an additional water retention fleece for the exterior works to ensure health of plants during the 50°C heat during the Summer.

‘’We are delighted to be working with SM Consortium on this massive project and look forward to seeing the results of our endeavours over the coming months. Having made a visit to Tehran in December I was bowled over by the warmth and hospitality that was extended to me. It was also fascinating to experience a culture about which I knew very little’’

Angus Cunningham – Scotscape MD

‘’We thoroughly researched the Vertical Greening market and were very impressed with Scotscape and their Living Wall product and look forward to working with them as their agent on future projects in the Middle East’’

Saeed Atazadeh – SM Consortium MD
